Canadian Cinema That You Need To Know – Why Has Canada Never Truly Had Their Own Film Industry?

In this video, which is a part of our series, Canadian Cinema That You Need To Know, we will be joined by Film Journalist Geoff Pevere to discuss five different essential Canadian Film Classics of his choosing, which are „Goin’ Down The Road”, „Mon Oncle Antoine”, „My Winnipeg”, „Hard Core Logo” and „Videodrome”.

We will be discussing the history of Canadian film and why Canada has never truly had their own distinctive Film Industry.

Geoff Pevere has written for The Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, as well as several other newspapers, magazines and art journals. He was the co-host on the Film Show „Reel To Real” and has appeared on CBC and CTV, as well as TVO. He has also written some incredible film books, such as „Toronto On Film” and „Donald Shebib’s Goin Down The Road”.

We can’t wait to talk to Geoff and hope you can tune in.
