Should You Close Your Credit Cards? (w/ Mark Plymale)

In general, closing your oldest credit card accounts is not a good idea and will eventually hurt your credit score, so as long as they don’t have an annual fee on them, it usually makes sense to leave them open. Closing your more recent cards will have less of an impact on your overall credit history, but it’s generally best to leave your no-annual-fee cards open if they’re not causing problems for you.
